When I was 14, I visited Nuremberg for the first time and was scouted by a prominent agency at the time. The agent said, ‘Wow, you have long legs! I want to invite you to the agency to get signed.’ At that moment, I thought she was crazy because I was bullied for being skinny and tall. I told my mom, but she wasn’t on board, she thought I was too young. So, I focused on my education and became an office management assistant. However, I kept thinking about the opportunity I had missed, so I started doing some test shoots to get a feel for the industry. After finishing my studies, I decided to pursue modelling full-time. It’s been a year now, and I’m so excited to see what the future holds!
Last February you made your debut on the runway when you walked for Anteprima during Milan Fashion Week. How has that experience influenced how you see yourself in the fashion world?
I’ve always loved the fashion world; it’s so creative and far more complex than people might think. Walking in that show was breathtaking. I loved the setup, the team was amazing, and I felt so comfortable in my outfit. You’re not just a clothes hanger; you bring the designs to life with your walk and expression.

Fashion is all about expressing who we are, but it can also be about fitting into a designer’s vision. How do you manage to sprinkle a bit of ‘Selina magic’ into every look while staying true to the designer’s intent?
For me, modelling is a bit like acting. When I arrive on set, my first question is always, ‘What’s the vision for today?’ I’m genuinely interested in the project because I want to bring the team’s vision to life. My sprinkle of ‘Selina magic’ is having fun on set and laughing throughout the day. But once the camera focuses on me, I shift into work mode.
Mental health and self-esteem play key roles in this industry. How do you prepare yourself before stepping into the spotlight? Do you have any pre-show rituals, like a goofy dance or a pep talk in the mirror?
I usually listen to music while traveling to the set, which really calms me. Once I’m there, I start conversations with everyone to create a relaxed atmosphere, like I’m just hanging out with friends. I also talk to myself and sing songs in my head to avoid any awkward silence.

How has your understanding and expression of femininity evolved throughout your modelling journey? Are there any moments that significantly shaped your view?
It’s sad to say, but I still notice a lot of sexualisation of women in the industry. It’s a huge problem, and often I feel like we’re put into a box labeled ‘femininity’ that reflects a narrow vision through the eyes of men. It’s frustrating that we still struggle to break free from these outdated roles.
How do you deal with the pressure, especially when appearing in big publications?
I go home. Living in the countryside helps a lot after working in big cities. The feeling of coming home takes a lot of pressure off me, and I always look forward to the next opportunity.
You have a quirky and fun style, as seen in your Instagram reels and posts. How do you balance this persona with the professionalism required in modelling?
I like to show my true self; jumping around and doing funny things while also posting my serious modelling photos. It’s important to balance the two because a lot of people think I’m mean just based on my professional pictures. I post whatever feels right in the moment, whether it’s modelling content, my natural bare face, or fun outfit videos. Every day is different, so I don’t follow just one path.

Models today have the power to redefine beauty and femininity. Do you see yourself contributing to this shift?
Absolutely! This is something I’m passionate about. No matter your size, skin colour, ethnicity, or disability, every woman is a beautiful fairy! I believe in ‘girls supporting girls,’ and I love to compliment others and receive the love we all deserve.
What advice would you give to aspiring models trying to break into the industry?
Talk to experienced models privately because there’s so much you need to know before jumping in. It’s not easy, and if your mental health isn’t stable, you could end up going down the wrong path. Take your time, and don’t take things personally.
Looking ahead, what goals or projects are you excited about in your career?
I’m excited to explore more beautiful places and cultures and to work with great teams worldwide while learning new languages. My biggest goal is to work with Jacquemus. I can’t even describe what I feel for this brand…the history and creativity behind it are always breathtaking for me.
