Description
Marseille-born designer Simon Porte Jacquemus is one of the few men whom chooses to stay true to their roots and keep the promises made to themselves, in spite of market expectations. Fascinated by this unusual strength of mind, we chose to celebrate, through The Greatest #12, all the idealists out there. In his words, ’The lack of authenticity kills me. La robe maman from the summer collection for example is one of the traditional dresses that my mother and all the ladies used to wear in the south of France. I’ve always had this mania of looking for old clothes in my family’s wardrobe, like my grandma’s. When I was eight years old, the first thing I asked to my father’s new girlfriend the day I met her was to show me her clothes. So I went through her wardrobe and took my pick’. The Idealist Issue features our conversations with Ilan Chétrite, Cold Cave, Ugo Gattoni, Barnaba Fornasetti, Rossana Orlandi and much more, discover it now!
