The first photo you have on your official Instagram profile is a black and white portrait of you at the very beginning of your career. Can you tell us the moments that lead to that shot?

This picture was taken on a beautiful sunny day in Stockholm on the way back from a photo shoot. I looked backed at the photographer and he snapped the shot. This then became one of the pictures my agent chose to show to get the job for my first runway season.

Is being a model a career path that you’ve always wanted to pursue? Was fashion something you already liked or got interested later?

I’ve always been interested in design and beautiful things since I was little. I think life is more joyful with beauty around. The first time I was scouted by an agency, I was 12 and a half. I had no idea what modeling was at that time. Even though I was scouted very young and won a contest hosted by my agency MIKAs at the age of 14, I never thought it would become a career for me.

How did you feel when you got casted for your first show? And which has been your favourite so far?

My runway debut for Tom Ford S/S 2024 was unreal. I couldn’t believe it was happening. The quality of work in high fashion is so impressive: the attention to detail in clothing, hair, makeup, everything. I can’t even describe the adrenaline rush when I stepped out on the runway for the very first time. The whole show felt like a great celebration. It was Peter Hawkins’ first show as creative director for Tom Ford. Another special moment from my first season was when I opened for Chloé SS 2024, and Versace for the first time FW 24 was also fantastic.

Have you always felt confident in front of a camera or in front of the eyes of millions of people? What makes you confident?

Standing in front of a lot of people on a stage or in front of the camera has never been a problem for me. I love stepping into character on the runway and in front of the camera. I have to act to get the feel and vibe in the pictures that the designer and the photographer are looking for. I feel confident because I enjoy it. On the other hand, I don’t like to be the center of attention at a social event, that’s when I’m generally more introverted.

Do you have a fashion icon you look up to? Do you follow the trends or prefer to make your own rules when it comes to fashion?

My inspiration stems from many things. My sources of inspiration vary over time. I can’t say I have one single icon that I look up to. Fashion should be about feeling comfortable, beautiful, and empowered, so I believe more in making my own rules.

What’s your biggest passion? How do you include this passion in your work?

Aside from spending time with family and friends, there is nothing more fueling and inspiring than being in nature. I grew up in the countryside surrounded by the forest and wild animals. I’ve loved horseback riding since I was six. I also enjoy photography. I often take pictures of people and places I like. Wherever I’m working and traveling, I bring my camera with me.

The fashion industry is in constant motion, causing a lot of stress and anxiety. How do you stay grounded when everything starts to feel too much?

It is significant to find time to pursue interests outside the fashion industry, even though it may be hard at times because of all the traveling. When I travel for work I talk on the phone with family and friends a lot. It’s valuable to stay connected to the people that matter most in my life. My grandma is especially important to me. She keeps me calm and positive when things get overwhelming at times.

Many young people believe that they have to fit in a certain body shape and beauty standard. What is your take on it?

Sadly it is a reality that the fashion industry has very strict standards for body type. There are exceptions, but they’re still very few. I’m hoping it will improve over time. Personally, I believe, that beauty has little to do with body shape and body size. To me, there’s nothing more beautiful and attractive than people who radiate self-confidence.

What do you wish was more talked about in the fashion industry? Do you think that the fashion industry should be more upfront about social and political topics?

Some of the most creative and talented minds work in the fashion industry. I’d love to see that capacity, creativity, and professionalism used to find a more sustainable path for fashion. I’m sure that it can be done. Many designers are inspired by previous collections in their work: what if they also reuse materials and clothing reinventing them into new collections? The Prada Re-nylon initiative is a great example: luxury bags made from ocean plastic. People will always love fashion, therefore we need to make it work within the planetary boundaries.

Whats a goal you want to achieve through your work?

I want to travel the world. See beautiful places and meet even more amusing and inspiring people. Like any model, I dream of being on the cover of a magazine and being the face of one of the largest fashion brands. You never know what the future holds. Maybe it will be something completely different that will be my favourite modeling job to come.
